A beer brewed within the ancient city walls of York and one of my all-time favourites. As a graduate of history, with a passion for Ancient Rome, how could I not like a beer steeped in history, named after one of York’s infamous ghost stories?
Brilliantly dark, with exceptionally complex flavours, Centurion’s Ghost packs a real punch. I first discovered it in 2010 and have been drinking it ever since. Robust, and perfect with red meat, it certainly is a crowd pleaser.
I have also been for a tour of York Brewery and if you get the time you should certainly give it a go!
