As you’ll all probably be aware, I am Tadcaster born and bred. Having grown up around a mile from the Samuel Smith’s brewery, and having worked in their pubs many times in my life, I will always have a soft spot for the brewery!
Nut Brown Ale isn’t a beer I have tried before. I have tried most of the Sam Smiths range but for some reason this one has slipped me by. It has a pleasant nose and you certainly do get the dryness of nuts on the palate when drinking.
It is not overly sweet and has a nice bitterness which balances everything out nicely. Not too hoppy and not too malty. In all honestly the beer isn’t going to blow you away, but it was definitely worth the purchase.
