I always love to try local beers to me and support local businesses, so when I came across King Slayer from Buxton Brewery I knew I had to give it a go, even though I am not the biggest IPA fan.
I have to say that I was actually very impressed with King Slayer. It had a lovely hoppy bitter taste, which was not overpowering. The tropical and orange notes were very pleasant and it had an excellent juicy mouthfeel.
It’s far too easy drinking for an 8% beer so be careful! I picked this up at a Tesco in the Peak District so it should be relatively easy to find in the East Midlands!
I would pair it with something like my Chicken Souvlaki, it would complement the zesty lemon flavours wonderfully.
