My lovely wife picked a bottle of Fire Brick Brewery Parsons Porter from the fantastic beer shop inside Newcastle train station a few weeks ago. When she goes away for work she often will bring me a bottle of local beer back for me to sample and review.
Fire Brick Brewery Parsons Porter is lovely a rich, which a lovely full mouthfeel combined with a nice dried fruity smoky flavour, it almost reminds me of a festive style porter.
The mix of the fruity smoky flavour with the chocolate coffee flavour is very good, full of bitter malty notes with a hint of rum right at the back of the palette, overall a great beer and I was certainly pleased my wife picked it up for me.
I would definitely recommend giving it a go if you can find it!
I would pair it with some hearty like my Beef Stew, the smoking notes would really draw out the flavour of the stewed beef!
