Andre Jalbert Cidre de Normandie

Colour– Bronze Gold

Aroma– Sweet, Apple

Taste– Apple, Dry, Sweet

ABV– 4.5%

Cost– £1.75

I will always have a soft spot for Normandy ciders, they remind me of hot summers spent in France with my grandparents. They are, in general, very different to English ciders and tend to taste much more of apple.

Andre Jalbert is a typical cider of Normandy, bitter sweet, and packed full of apple flavour. It is distinctively well balanced and certainly a delicious drink. It comes in a champagne style bottle, and is very reasonable at £1.75 for a 750ml bottle.

For me it is slightly too acidic, which is why it cannot score higher than it does. However it is easily found – it’s sold at Lidl. I would certainly recommend that any cider lover should pop down to their local Lidl to taste this excellent cider.
